The show was almost half through when Sam and Grace walked into the arena after a quick warm-up. Both were kind of tired of long wait and hoped that their entry would go smooth and nice. Steve came here to cheer up Samuel and help him do some exercise to relax and get ready for the show. It was neccessary for both as they were seriously suffering from unbearable heat all day. In the evening the temperature got down a little and the air-conditioning was working just fine in the hall. Yet Samuel was nervous biting his lip because of all these people on the stands that were making noise, clapping their hands or booing some unfortunate riders. Even Grace began to snort loudly as if she was trying to shut up the crowd. Finally, it was their turn to show the performance. Samuel rode into the center of the arena and began moving. Circles, spins, flying lead change, then rundown prior to the sliding stop and rollback. Steve meanwhile was chanting something to encourage the two. Sam was too concentrated to hear anything and the air was whistling past his ears as he was galloping. In the end he stopped, and the performance finished. Sam waved his hand to Steve and left the arena. He had a weird feeling about his performance and wasn't sure about the accuracy of his movements, yet Steve reassured him saying everything was perfect. The men then went to the camping area, leaving Grace at the Steinhart Valley stables. Samuel seriously needed to calm down as his hands were still trembling so they got some beer and snacks and went outside. Sam was grateful again to Steve that convinced him to take part in the show. Recently he had been wondering what makes him do it. Being very cautious, the man took it as a lie or a trickery. He watched things carefully, yet took advantages from his friendship with Steve. "He probably has some reason to do it - no one helps people just out of a good will", - Sam thought. Steve, however, didn't have any evil plans. He was glad that someone finally revived his old stables and felt kind of responsible for the newly minted horse owner. Perhaps, somewhere deep in his mind he worried that Sam would mess things up so it was better for him to guide Sam carefully through the intricacy of stable life, giving him recommendations and watching his every step. Who knows, maybe he will be a great rider one day or a rich stable owner and Steve will praise himself for being the cause of it.
